Presbyterian Conference

Six hundred delegates from throughout the Dominion converged on Gisborne during the Christmas-New Year period for the 1963-64 Presbyterian Summer Conference.

Held in the Y.M.C.A. stadium, the conference ran for a week, and had as its theme, "Behold a New Thing".

The visitors were accommodated in the Boys' and Girls' High Schools, and had their meals at the Intermediate School.

During their stay, they toured the district extensively, and were given a demonstration of hangi cooking at Poho-o-rawiri meeting house.
