The first of the new final selector racks which are being installed in the new Gisborne automatic telephone exchange, being inspected by the exchange senior technician, Mr D. P. Lane, and Mr I. J. Mallett, post office district engineer. The rack will handle 200 subscribers, and with the installation of the remaining racks, the exchange will have capacity for an additional 3700 lines.

Mr O. Swarbrick, Queens Road, exhibiting an unusual bone he picked up off the beach near the abattoirs. He is sending the bone to the Gisborne Museum as, to date, it has been unidentified.
