The Junior Stampede

The children's day of the Poverty Bay Stampede provided a large crowd of lively youngsters with plenty of action and entertainment.

Probably the most popular event was the calf riding competition, many of the young cowboys putting in extremely good performances.

The quest for the fastest gun in Gisborne drew a large entry of both boys and girls, and resulted in a very close duel for final honours.
