Entertaining Rugby For Finale Of The Season
The 1963 first - class rugby season at Rugby Park was fittingly brought to a close with an entertaining tussle between the Harlequins and Olympians teams, played on a perfect ground in brilliant sunshine before a large crowd last month.
Playing the last first-class game of his notable rugby career was the Harlequin captain, Auckland representative, and former All Black, Snow White, who holds the New Zealand record of 234 first-class games.
Harlequin winger, John McKenzie (formerly of P.B.), fends off his opponent, Reece Johnstone, with a hand in the face.
Olympian fullback Brian Norman clears in the face of opposition from Beau Guest
Many of the crowd preferred the sunshine on the bank to sitting in the stand
