Roving Camera

The formidable head of an unknown type of sea eel which was caught off Poverty Bay in 50 fathoms by Mr N. Matsen from his boat, Michelle.

Mr Matsen holds the 8ft 4in long eel for the camera.

A large plume of black smoke rises from a giant box-thorn bush which was burnt off recently in the overnight holding yards near the Nelson Road Bridge.

The steel-hulled trawler, Seddon Park, which was the second new fishing vessel to join the Gisborne fleet last month.
