Airport Runway Inspected

Members of the Joint Aerodrome Committee, which is made up of representatives from district local bodies, inspected the progress on the new 4300ft long, 150ft wide, sealed runway now under construction at Darton Field.

The committee watched heavy machinery at work excavating an unstable portion of reclaimed swamp at the northern end of the field, and also inspected the concrete slit drains which border the runway.
