Courthouse Foundation Stone Officially Laid

The foundation stone for Gisborne's new £126,000 courthouse, which is now under construction in Customhouse Street, was officially laid by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, the Honourable R. J. Hanan.

An impressive, well-attended ceremony, at which Mr Hanan, Mr Justice T. A. Gresson, Mr L. N. Ritchie, S.M., Mrs E. I. Tombleson, M.P., Mr D. W. Isles, and the Mayor, Mr H. H. Barker, were speakers, preceded the laying of the stone.
