At left are five of the present Area 9 Army staff who have represented the Army in sport - two of them with distinction. They are W/O2 "Gerry" Gerard, W/O1 Jim Upton, Sergeant Gaile Holland, Sge Manse Rangi and Major Peter Marshall, the Area Commander. Sergeant Holland and Major Marshall each won a "blue" for distinction in sport.
