New Stoke Church

Stoke Presbyterians now have a beautiful church in which to worship. Since the parish was first formed in 1961, adherents have worshipped in a hall in Songer Street. In February this year • start was made on a new church fronting the old hall and the building was completed, opened and dedicated at the end of last month. The $27,000 building is quite a landmark in the area, with its high and steep-pitched roof. Furnishings cost a further $6000. Fine wood grains have been used on the interior to good effect and the church both inside and out is simple and very beautiful. Above is an interior view of the church and at left, the Rev. I. G. Bishop stands before his new building - a dream come true.
