The Nelson City Council has commenced filling one of a series of unsightly mud flat ponds below the Wakapuaka cemetery. It is proposed to fill the others as material becomes available The one above is being filled, experimentally, with wood shavings and sawdust, and if this type of material proves successful, it will probably be used to fill the other areas along the highway.
