Any Old Iron?

The Wakefield hall committee has been raising funds for a new hall for some time now, but an added impetus to the fund raising activities was given recently when the old hall burned down. So it was that residents of the district turned up en masse one Saturday earlier this month to bid for a big catalogue of goods donated to the committee. There was a fair sprinkling of what Harold Steptoe would describe as "junk", but, strangely enough, even this found buyers. There were some excellent lines, however, and good prices were obtained for the ones most sought after.
