Nelson Overwhelmed by Marist

An object lesson in what can be accomplished when hard-won possession from all phases is retained and not kicked needlessly away was given the Nelson representative team by a N.Z. Marist XV, before a big crowd at Trafalgar Park. Nelson held this starstudded side until well into the second half, when the visitors' backing up and variations of play proved too great an obstacle for Nelson to overcome. It was an entertaining game. Nelson, for its part, showed promise of developing into a good side this year.
