Press Shield Presented

The "Weekly Press" Shield for 22 shooting, won by the Tapawera District High School team last year, was presented to the school recently by Squadron Leader W. R. Swap, Woodbourne, during a meeting of the school's Home and School Association. The team made history in winning the shield. It was the first all - A.T.C. cadet team to do so, and topped New Zealand with its score. The team, pictured above, comprised: Back row, Kevin Fenemor, E. Lukey, G. Chambers, A. Overton, Captain A. Elgar (coach), Ron Fenemor, C. Carson and L. Thorne. Front, Ross Fenemor, P. Greep, R. Wadsworth, C. Hewitt and S. Silcock. At left are Squadron-Leader Swap and Mr A. J. Sandom, representing "The Press" and at right is Flight Sergeant John Marshall.
