Technicians of the future
Nelson joined with the rest of the Commonwealth centres in marking Technical Training Week. The Nelson College Technical School was thrown open to the public as was Waimea College. Boys from Waimea College also accepted an invitation from the Harbour Board to inspect the suction dredge, an inspection that proved most informative. To wind up the week, Mr V. E. Harney, president of the Engineers and Allied Trades Union, presented awards to the outstanding apprentices at the technical school last year.
