New Churches for Nelson South

Nelson South adherents of the Catholic and Presbyterian faiths will soon have churches in their area. Mainly through the use of voluntary labour the new Catholic Church on Vanguard street has been pushed ahead rapidly and should be in full use before the end of the year. Not so far away, the Presbyterian Church has bought a property at 156 Hampden Street on which a church will be erected. Initially, however, an all-purpose hall will be built behind the house. The house is at present used for Sunday School. The top picture shows voluntary workers on the job at the Catholic Church, and below the sign is self-explanatory.
