Lots of Talent at Festival

There were times during the one-day festival of Nelson Country Women's Institutes at Motueka when it was difficult to realise that the performers on stage were all amateurs, and that many of them were making public appearances for the first time. Every item that we saw, whether choral, musical or humorous sketch or mime, was well presented and maintained the interest of the huge: audience throughout. Motueka and Uruwhenua shared first place for the overall points won during the festival. Uruwhenua, an institute with less than 40 members, is to be congratulated on what was an outstanding effort. Our pictures are of items given during the afternoon of the festival.
