Improvements to Golf Links

A bigger parking area, a sealed road, a new professional and professional's shop and the reclamation of 15 acres of swamp land for a practice area and the reclamation of another area of land adjoining the motor camp for housing sections have all been effected this year by the Nelson Golf Club's executive. The biggest improvements are undoubtedly the clearing and levelling of 15 acres of land on Bolt Road for a practice area and the reclamation of the land for sections. In this last job the club has been aided by the Tahuna Sands Association which has allowed the club to remove great sandbanks within the motor camp for the reclaimed land, thereby giving the motor camp more space for camping sites. The two pics above show this take-and-put operation (sand from the camp on to the building section sites) and the pic below shows a part of the practice area fronting Bolt Road.
