First aid on the Wharves

If any accidents happen on the wharves of Port Nelson, and happen they sometimes do, the victims will not want for skilled care. A first aid unit, with experienced St. John Ambulance officers as its nucleus, is on hand to render first aid. The value of the unit was recognised by the Waterside Workers' Union recently, when it presented it with the latest in resuscitators, at a cost of $146. The resuscitator, which also embodies a special cardiac resuscitator, is used for training purposes. We called in on the unit as it was at practice one morning.
