The most unusual motor cycle in Nelson and the only one of its kind in New Zealand is this 800 cc American Harley Davidson, owned by Mr Ted Wilson. The machine was once used as a traffic officer's' motorcycle in Suva. Although very big it is reputed to be very easy to handle. The cost of such a machine in England is £900. (Ellis Dudgeon).

As a demonstration of the capacity of the Iroquois helicopter used by the R.N.Z.A.F. in Nelson recently 18 air force personnel (including the pilot) were packed in to it.
