The Thrills of Go-Karting

Without a driver, and sitting in the pits, the little go-karts seem quite insignificant and puny. But once they're on the track, with a skilful driver behind the wheels, then Whammy; The souped-up little karts really get around and at a fantastic speed. We took these pix at the Go-Kart Club's course at Redwood's Valley. during the holidays.

Hans Becker, Ruby Bay, trying out the sport in the novice race, lost his right front wheel (arrow in front of spectators) when the stub axle broke (we shot first then looked to see if we were in focus - as you can see, we weren't).
