South Island Tennis Titles

As with many other holiday attractions in Nelson and in other parts of the country, the South Island lawn tennis championships were upset by rain. Finally the tournament had to be abandoned with the two A grade titles for men's doubles and mixed doubles un-played. Excellent entries were received for the tourney and had the weather been more kind it would have been a complete success. The young New Zealand representative, Onny Parun, won the men's singles title, and Mrs Ethne Mitchell, top seed, won the women's title.
