Fifteen swimmers, four of them girls, left the Aurora Yacht Club s slip together for the annual 1¼ mile harbour swim to Tahuna Beach. Winner was Bryce Ward, a 15-year-old member of the South Brighton Surf Club, Christchurch, who came ashore a second ahead of Tony Cato, of Nelson.
