Patricia Nilsen, 19-year-old shop assistant at Wright Stephenson and Co, displays the smile which won her the Nelson section of the Jantzen "Miss Smile" contest. This win put Pat in the national final held in Wellington a week later and the chance to win a Chrysler Valiant. Pat has appeared in "Photo News" before. A few months ago she modelled a swimming costume for her firm and she has done considerable modelling work for Wright Stephenson's. You might not have won the "Miss Smile" contest, Pat, but you certainly have got a lovely smile. This pic, incidentally, was taken by John Mayson, advertising manager of Wright Stephenson's, and we agree, it is a beauty.

We wouldn't say that Nelson M. P. , Mr Stan Whitehead can match Pat for beauty, but his smile, nevertheless, is a victorious one. Our congratulations, Stan, on being returned as Nel-son's Parliamentary representative, and, speaking for all the electors in your district, we are sure that you will work as hard for Nelson in the next three years as you have since 1960. During his address in Nelson, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) suggested that if we weren't satisfied with our progress in Nelson with you as our representative, we should make a change. The answer has been given.
