David Comparini Farewelled

Nelson road and track cyclists and friends of David Comparini turned out in force to bid farewell and best wishes to David before he joined the New Zealand Empire Games team for the Commonwealth Games in Jamaica, David will race in the 4000 metres pursuit, an event for which he has trained extremely hard in recent weeks. Presentations were made to him by various sections of the cycling community at the function.

Nick Carter, who represented New Zealand in cycling at the 1948 Olympics and at the Empire Games in Auckland, wishes David luck while Mr J. W. Russell, patron of the Nelson Cycling and Athletics Club looks on.
