Nelson's representative at the "Miss New Zealand" contest, lovely Lorraine Holland, pictured against a well-known Nelson landmark, the Cathedral tower. Lorraine won the local contest in the face of strong competition from 13 other lovely young ladies. We have covered the contest very fully in this issue.

Zealandia Stars, of Richmond, gave us this very colourful picture during Trooping the Colour at the Nelson provincial marching championships at Trafalgar Park. These are also covered in this issue.

No need to identify this beach for Nelsonians. As you no doubt guessed, this picture was taken at the height of Christmas vacation when holiday makers from all parts of New Zealand soaked up the sun on Tahunanui Beach.
