New County Offices Opened

The new £45,000 office block of the Waimea County Council was opened by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Local Government, Mr Seath, last month. The new offices, on Queen Street, Richmond, are now closer to the Main area administered by the council. The new block has all the space and amenities not available to it in the old building in Trafalgar Street. A big council chamber is located on the ground floor along with a Modern cafeteria and public office and the second floor is occupied by the engineering and drafting staff.
