Port Nelson has seldom been busier than in recent weeks. Overseas ships arriving to pick up the apple crop found berths already occupied and at one stage two overseas vessels were anchored in the bay. This shot was taken from the Romanic looking towards McGlashen Quay where the Devon was tied up.

Loading of the Devon was slowed down when apples did not come forward fast enough because of the late season.
