R.S.A Honours Ken Strange

When Ken Strange, while still president of the Nelson Returned Services Association, was presented with his New Zealand R.S.A.Merit Badge in 1963, disappointment was expressed that he was not to receive the top award, the Gold Star Badge, for the tremendous job which he had done for Nelson R.S.A. But that position was rectified last month when the national president, Mr Hamilton Mitchell, pinned this coveted award on Ken Strange's lapel. He is the only World War II veteran in New Zealand to receive both awards. As a committeeman, vicepresident and president for eight years Ken has been actively associated with the administration of Nelson R.S.A. for 20 years. The award was presented during the club's ladies' night.
