"Topaze"

"Money is not all" says one of the placards on the wall above the blackboard in the schoolroom of poor, conscientious teacher Topaze, and in the opening scene of the French satirical comedy "Topaze", the main subject of the play firmly believed this. But ideals often change as circumstances alter, and the fluctuations in the fortunes of Topaze as portrayed in the Nelson Repertory Theatre's latest production provided theatregoers with excellent entertainment. Top marks to Dennis Richards, who played the difficult role of Topaze to perfection.
