Game Contest

Pigs, deer and hares around the Nelson district were even more keenly sought after than usual during the last few months, as the result of a contest run by Tayson Products Ltd, a company which buys game meats for export. During the contest period 4000 lb of game was bought by the company. The heaviest pig weighed 224lb and the heaviest deer, 206lb.
