Old Landmarks Disappearing

×

Two old Nelson homes, built at least 100 years ago, are being demolished. The house at left, owned by Mr Tom Westley, is 105 years old. Its removal will allow Mr Westley to build an additional block of motels on his property in Grove Street East. Above, Mr Westley looks at some of the old newspapers with which the walls were covered. Below, this well-known old home in Collingwood Street, now owned by Mr Ben Marshall, is being part-demolished. Mr Marshall plans to remain living in the two-storey section in the meantime but this, also, will eventually come down.
