Army Band Visits Nelson

Looking smart in their bright red uniforms and white helmets, the band of the second Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment added a splash of colour to a dusk-shadowed Trafalgar Street, during a short visit to the city. The band marched to Trafalgar Park where it was inspected by the Mayor, (Mr D. N. Strawbridge), and performed the beating of the retreat. It was the band's last public performance before leaving for Australia. A concert on the Sunday was also given.
