The old building which has served Bowater Motors as a showroom at the Cock and Ct corner for many years was demolished recently. The company plans to erect a new showroom on the site.

Possibly in the hope that Mr A. Polglaze, the owner of this car, had brought some raspberries with him from his farm at Brightwater, this swarm of bees went through his car with a, fine honey comb but were unrewarded. The car, parked in Hardy Street, was a mass of bees, inside and out, at one stage.

Pupils of Tasman Street School will commence the school year with a new dental clinic on the site. The clinic, from the Richmond Primary School, was brought to Tasman Street by road.
