Fire Fighting Demonstration

More than 300 gallons of waste oil, petrol and kerosene provided a conflagration guaranteed to warm the heart (and the body) of the most fastidious fire bug, on the reclamation last month. The blaze provided the Nelson Fire Brigade with the means of demonstrating how oil fuel fires should be correctly dealt with. After demonstrating the various types of apparatus available to handle such situations, the brigade, all too quickly for many of the children present, used foam to blanket the big fire.
