Mr Jesse Bowden, who has been playing bowls as a member of the Nelson club since he gave up golf in his late seventies, receives a presentation from club president, Mr Jim Walsh, on the occasion of his 90th birthday. Charlie Cowman took the picture.


Members of the harbour board staff commence the cutting of this old anchor which was pulled up from the harbour by the anchor of the Dunedin Star. It is believed the anchor beonged to the dredge, John Graham, which lost one in 1910.


The Victa Air Tourer, second prototype of a new Australian light aircraft, was demonstrated to aero club members in Nelson. Here, Don Brewer climbs into the cockpit for a trial flight while Mr A. G. Heath, director of the company in New Zealand assists him.
