With a pony for a friend a youngster in Nelson has a wide range or enchanting country over which to ride. Young riders can be found in the most unlikely places at times. We found this one on Fifeshire Crescent when the spring blossom was at its best.

The small boat harbour crowded with pleasure craft was very peaceful on the day we took this pic. Lately, however, it has been a hive of activity during the weekends, during which owners have been painting and refitting their craft.
