Congratulations are extended by Mayor Doug Strawbridge to Mr James Eyles, who was recently appointed the first director of the Nelson provincial museum to be established at Isel Park. Mr Eyles, who is 38, is a farmer from Blenheim, but a farmer with a difference. He has a wide background of technical and practical experience in anthropology, ethnology, and archaeology and in the running of museums. Dr Roger Duff, director of the Canterbury Museum, is at left.

Heartiest congratulations to Neil Fitzsimmons (Rival) on being selected for the New Zealand Under-23 team to tour Australia. We know Neil will justify his inclusion in the team by the same sterling performances that mark his games in Nelson, and we look forward in the near future to seeing him graduate to the Dominion's senior team.
