When he left Nelson for England as a single man 12 years ago, Brian O'Meara promised to return. On New Year's day he kept that promise, bringing with him his wife Mary, three children, James, Sandra and Yvonne and the latest Mark X Jaguar. They are seen here with their hosts, Les and Jane Hart, of Washington Terrace, with whom Mr O'Meara once stayed. Welcome back!

When that wonderful film "The Longest Day" was screened at "the State Theatre, guests of the management were 16 men now living in the Nelson district who took part in the D-Day landings. We managed to get 13 of them together for this pic.

Sergeant A. H. Marshall, Nelson Area A.T.C. instructor, was recently presented with the Long Service and (Good Conduct Medal by Air Commodore T. J. McLean De Lange, at a ceremonial parade in Nelson. Sergeant Marshall has been in the service for 18 years.
