Roads Being Reconstructed
The City Council is certainly getting on with the job of improving the roads. Great strides have been made in the last few months with the Haven Road double-lane highway and on Princes Drive work is also proceeding at a smart pace on the widening of a very difficult section of roadway.
The pic above shows men and machines engaged on the second phase of the Haven Road reconstruction work. At the same time, stormwater drains of a size adequate to cope with most eventualities have been laid and water and gas piping along the route have also been renewed.
The narrow and steep Princes Drive is also getting a facelift. Further down the road the widening has been completed in parts and kerbing and channelling is under way.
