This summery scene was captured at "Harcourt", Stoke, during the flush of the fruit picking season. It is a picture that could have been seen on any one of dozens of orchards in the Nelson district. Here, Bib Kenning, Leila Dell, Doug Carson, Jill Aitken, Edna Tiplady, and Bill Brett discharge the juicy and colourful contents of their bags into the trailer.

Our back cover also recalls those warmer summer days when the Nelson Aero Club held a summer camp at the airport. After a fly-over, we got this pic of some of the aircraft and people who attended the camp.
