Boxing at Motueka

The programme organised by the Motueka Boxing Club on Labour Day was worthy of greater support than the 350 who attended Rugby Park. Walter Findlay and Aborigine "Buster" Weir provided plenty of action and boxing in the professional bout and there were some excellent amateur contest, Findlay won his fight with an unanimous points decision, but he had no easy fight. John Logan, Empire Games boxer and national light-heavy champion, won his bout against Finau on a T.K.O. but he also had no armchair ride to victory.
