Bands Festival
Eleven bands, from each of the Seddon Shield districts, took part in the annual festival of bands at Motueka last month. Despite gloomy weather forecasts the day remained beautifully fine and a large crowd at Rugby Park was treated to a real feast of band music. The festival was formally opened by the Postmaster-General. Mr A. E. Kinsella.
Nelson Highland Drum Major, Don McCutcheon, who had his last parade at Motueka (ha has been transferred to Christchurch) received from Pipe Major Ray IIlingworth a token of the band's esteem.
