Heavy Ground for Trots

Record nominations provided the Nelson Trotting Club with tremendous fields for its two-day winter meeting at Richmond Park. Divisions were run in most of the races and a big crowd attended. The only thing that detracted from the meeting was the extremely heavy course, the result of the torrential rain earlier in the month. There were many tired horses.
