The Nelson-Marlborough-West Coast Regiment's annual dinner was held in the Old Folks' Hall during the month. Above is the main table and seated from left are Mrs Stan Whitehead and Mr Whitehead, M.P., Mrs and Major M. C. Stanaway, Mrs and Col. T. F. Hegglun and Major J. R. Mcintosh, who travelled from Masterton for the event. At right other members and guests commence dinner.

The controversial building hoarding of Wright Stephenson and Co. in Trafalgar Street. The hoarding was to have been higher than the one pictured here, but because of fire risk and fire egress, it was lowered several inches. It certainly brightens up Trafalgar Street.
