The Invasion

It's gone Tor another year - the invasion of the sunshine province by thousands of visitors from all over New Zealand the riot of colour has disappeared from the beaches, the motor camps, still busy, are comparatively deserted and there is walking space on the footpaths again. It was, however, fun while it lasted.

We had happy scenes like this on the beach

And for a time, the campers had liquid sunshine troubles like these ones

For the carnival period three bands played at the Y.M.C.A shows, the Skyrockets, tornados and the Night Owls, combined here for this one photo.

Some good did emerge for campers out of the unseasonable rain - it gave the kids at the reservoir camp a swimming hole.

But there were still those chores
