The Nelson Photo News

And So – "Farewell"

The last two years with "Nelson Photo News" have been enjoyable and I hope our readers have been satisfied. Those two years have required a fair amount of work involving broken and, at times, long hours. But the end product has been satisfying and it is with some regret that I made the decision to break my association with "Nelson's most popular monthly pictorial publication." Many people have contributed to the continued success of "Photo News" and I would especially like to thank my wife, Patti, who has ably filled the role of Social Pages Editor, as well as looking after most business aspects of the magazine. Also due for special thanks are Bill Houston, Elaine Giblin, Jeanette Jackson, Myrtle Friend and Derek Smith, who have supervised runners in the City, Stoke, Tahunanui, Richmond and Motueka areas. It is of interest that Mrs Friend has outlasted both editors of the "Photo News" and has been supervising runners for more than 12 years. I would also like to thank Morell and Min Anderson, who handled distribution so capably; Cooper-Sharp Photography, who did our reprints; Barry Simpson, the previous editor of "Photo News," who was always helpful with advice and contributions; and our correspondents in rural areas and the local professional photographers who kept us supplied with wedding and engagement photographs. And, of course, our runners, who delivered the magazine, come rain or hail, deserve a big thank you.

Finally I would like to say "thank you" to our thousands of readers whose continued support has meant so much to "Photo News." I sincerely hope that you will continue to support the magazine as, after all, it is Nelson's magazine and its future lies in your hands.

My wife and I and our two children are going to Australia and perhaps might see some of you over that way some day.

Cheerio, and take care. Peter Skinner.
