Bob Daly Was Top Driver

Bob Daly (Transport Nelson, Takaka) emerged the winner of the annual Nelson area Commercial Drivers' competition, held at the N.Z. Apple and Pear Board depot. Second equal were Baden Biggs (Kirbys Carriers) and Doug 'Bruno' Smith (Transport Nelson). Bob Daly lost 68 points and the runners-up, 75 each. Rob Ryrie (Transport Nelson) was fourth. On September 30, the top Nelson three will defend the national teams' title, at New Plymouth.
