Local Bodies Confer

Nelson was host to quite a few conferences during the month, probably the largest of which was the South Island Local Bodies Association's meeting. Delegates worked their way through a lot of remits but there was still plenty of time left for them to see some of the many beauties of Nelson in the spring. The conference was opened by the Minister of Works (Mr W. S. Goosman).

In his opening address Mr Goosman gave members a better insight into the decision to link the North and South island with a power cable.
