Topping Off Ceremony at the Rutherford

The managing director of Dominion Breweries Ltd, Sir Henry Kelliher, marked the topping off of The Rutherford, by smoothing a small square of concrete on the 14th level of the structure. The $3.5 million building is scheduled to open on November 20. Four thousand tons of concrete have gone into the construction since work started a year ago. A large party of local body and civic leaders and representatives of the construction company were on hand to watch Sir Henry perform the topping off ceremony.
