Among the police involved in the search for the two Invercargill Borstal escapers were Constable P. F. Kane (Christchurch), dog handler R. J. Hibbs (Greymouth), Detective L. B. Halsall (Greymouth), Detective Sergeant W. R. Withers (Christchurch) and Constable M. T. Howell (Greymouth). Here the five men were having a meal before resuming the search in the Lake Rotoiti area.
